Secondary Care Ultrasound Scanning

We are always striving to ensure that we can provide as many services as possible for our patients in the convenience of their own surgery. We have recently teamed up with SMI (Specialist Medical Imaging) to provide in house ultra sound scanning to patients who have been referred by their GP.

SMI provide scanning clinics at our surgery around 4 to 5 times per month and patients are seen from a variety of surgery's around the area including our patients.

 

Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to contact us 1st to discuss your vaccination arrangements.  You can do this either by:

What Information Do We Require

When contacting us we require the following information to decide what vaccinations you may need:

1. Where you will be visiting (i.e. country)?
2. How long you will be going for?
3. When will you be going?
4. What accomodation you will be staying?
5. Whether you are staying in a typical tourist destination?

What vaccinations do we / don't we offer?

As we are not a travel clinic we only offer a limited service under the NHS.  The vaccinations we offer are all free of charge* and they are as follows:

-  Tetanus, Diptheria & Polio
-  Hepatitis A
-  Typhoid
-  Hepatitis B *There will be a £20 charge per injection for this vaccination.

We do not provide the following travel vaccinations:

-  Yellow Fever
-  Rabies
-  Japanese Encephalitis
-  Tick Bourne Encephalitis

If you require vaccinations which we do not provide then you will have to visit a private travel clinic to receive these, here are two of them:

Completion Of Private Forms

The practice completes insurance forms, driving licence counter signatures, medicals etc for our patients, however, these often carry a charge in line with the British Medical Association (BMA) recommendations.

Please note that typically forms will take a week to complete as these do not take priority over consulting ill patients.

Diabetic Dietician

At the surgery we have an in house dietician who reviews diabetic patients who need help or management with their diet.

Stacey Metcalfe provides a clinic once per month at the surgery, if you are diabetic and feel that you would benefit from this service then please contact us either by:

Please note that an appointment with the GP may be required before referral.

Stacey also works closely with the Diabetic Specialist Nurses and a consultant and holds joint clinics for patients outside the surgery.  She is actively involved in structured education programmes for people with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes to help support people to self manage their own diabetes.
