Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS)

The NHS employs over a million staff in thousands of locations. It is a large and complex organisation providing a broad range of services. It is not surprising that sometimes you or a loved one may feel bewildered or concerned when using the NHS. And this can be at times when you are feeling at your most vulnerable and anxious.

So, what should you do if you want on the spot help when using the health service? The NHS expects all members of staff to listen and respond to you to the best of their ability. But sometimes, you may wish to talk to someone employed especially to help you. The Patient Advice and Liaison Service, known as PALS, has been introduced to ensure that the NHS listens to patients, their relatives, carers and friends, and answers their questions and resolves their concerns as quickly as possible.

PALS also helps the NHS to improve services by listening to what matters to patients and their loved ones and making changes, when appropriate.

Complaints

In the unlikely circumstance that you feel you have not been completely satisfied with your health care provided by the surgery then we would ask that you telephone the surgery to speak to Warren Tuite the Practice Manager who will be able to assist you in your concern.

NHS Choices Website

NHS Choices is the online 'front door' to the NHS. It is the country's biggest health website and gives all the information you need to make choices about your health.

NHS Choices has recently launched the ability for patients to rate their practice and provide positive or negative feedback to patients looking to potentially register with the practice.

Patients are given an online questionnaire to complete about their experiences about the practice, a copy of this feedback is then sent to the practice for their response.

We would recommend that if you choose to log feedback via the NHS Choices website, you contact the practice to discuss this first.  Once logged, this feedback cannot be removed and this could cause potential issues for the practice if feedback is in relation to a complaint and the practice has not been given the option to respond.

We would ask that you consider the practice before logging your response.
