August 2017

Our August 2017 newsletter is now hot off the press and ready for perusal! We constantly strive to improve communication with our patients and this newsletter is one of four per calendar year which will be distributed on a quarterly basis, via email; on our website (www.drstocktonandthompson.co.uk); and at the reception desk. We hope you find the information contained useful and we appreciate any comments or feedback.

The newsletter is distributed by email to all patient's whom we have a valid email address for - if you haven't received an email, please contact the surgery to check and/or update your contact details.

Pre-bookable Appointments

Did you know that you can book your GP or nurse appointments up to 4 months in advance?  If you leave your mobile number we will also send you a text message to remind you 2 days before your appointment!  You can also request an appointment by clicking here


Urgent Appointments

If you feel that your appointment is of an urgent nature then we would ask that you contact the surgery at 8:30 in the morning This will enable us to ensure that we can offer the most suitable appointment time.  

 

Cancellation List - We'll Ring You!

We do have cancellations during the day due to our continued efforts to encourage patients to cancel their unwanted appointments.  We recognise that access can sometimes be difficult at busy times.  In order to help our patients obtain an appointment when the require one, we are piloting a new system whereby you can be added to our cancellation list and then one of the support team members will give you a call if we have a cancellation.  We hope that this will improve access to our appointments during busy periods.

Out of Hours Appointment

As a registered patient within Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, you now can access GP services 7 days a week. This includes evenings and Bank Holidays. 

This service can be accessed at the following locations in local centres in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale

Evening appointments These are available at the above sites between 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm Monday to Friday. 

Saturday appointments - These are available at the above sites between 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. 

Sunday appointments - These are available at the above sites from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. 

Bank Holiday appointments - These are available and follow the Saturday schedule outlined above.
