The Surgery Team
Well done to those members of staff who braved the cold and competed in the Movember 5k run - and some of their children, who ran the 1k kids race - at Heaton park on Sunday 19th of November, which raised money and attention for this fantastic mens health awareness charity. Not quite sure who the two monkeys and Xmas pudding were but they kept following us around!!!!

If you feel that your appointment is of an urgent nature then we would ask that you contact the surgery at 8:00 in the morning . This will enable us to ensure that we can offer the most suitable appointment time.
We do have cancellations during the day due to our continued efforts to encourage patients to cancel their unwanted appointments. We recognise that access can sometimes be difficult at busy times. In order to help our patients obtain an appointment when the require one, we are piloting a new system whereby you can be added to our cancellation list and then one of the support team members will give you a call if we have a cancellation. We hope that this will improve access to our appointments during busy periods.

Did you know that the surgery can text you a free appointment reminder 2 days before your appointment is due?
The surgery has recently teamed up with iPlato to offer all our patients this service free of charge. Using the NHS text messaging facility the system links with our clinical system to send text messages based on our next days appointments. If you would like to take advantage of this system you just need to drop in your mobile number and we will do the rest.
Since the introduction of the text messaging reminder system the surgery has seen a dramatic decrease in the number of appointments missed without reason and many of our patients have commented how useful the system is.
Alternatively if you would prefer not to receive text message reminders then you can opt out of the service by informing our support team.
As well as as our outgoing text message system, patients can also text us on 07780793149. Patients can text us anything from appointment bookings / cancellations, prescription requests, medical queries or anything else for that matter!
Patients will receive an aknowledgement text message within 24 hours.
