I'm a Stockport girl who had the pleasure of going to medical school in Newcastle upon Tyne. It's a lovely part of the world so i ended up staying on to do my GP training. I qualified in 2010 and I started work as a medical journalist in 2007. Until this year I have been Deputy Editor for the Royal College Of General Practitioners Journal 'innovAit' for GP trainees which helps me keep up to date.
After a while i realised that 'home is where the heart is' so i came back to the North West. One of the first practices where i locumed was Dr Stockton & Thompson's and it was a delight to finally join this young, innovative team as a salaried GP.
I enjoy being a generalist and seeing patients as a whole person instead of a list of conditions and so remain interested in everything and anything. However, as well as Dr Thompson, i enjoy helping with issues relating to women's health and am the children's lead for the clinical commissioning group.
